is good

this is a good article. not really talking about content. mostly the tone. "wage-slave" and "owning stuff" are good things to think about.

I like this article. I've

I like this article. I've always said that living on a boat, especially at our age, would be an awesome experience.

However this does draw the "tone issue" back into the limelight. A phrase like "wage-slave" is not helpful in any sense of the word. It does nothing but alienate those living a different life than him. He's acting exactly like the people that called him crazy. Not only that but there is a lot of evidence that he did not like his job. This isn't a universal truth and should not be treated as such. I happen to really like my job because it puts me in contact with a lot of interesting people and let's me help better the world. I don't "dread" going to work anymore than I "dread" going to the grocery store. Yet under his definition I would be a "wage-slave".

To sum my grievances up, he's talking about something that worked best for him and one should keep that in mind while reading. If you think this is the life for you then you have my full support (you=everyone, not just Luke). I just want to make sure that you think it through and are sure that this is the best idea. This may make it seem like I'm passing judgement, but I'm really just playing devil's advocate. I would expect you all to do the same for me (and you have).

Yes

I absolutely agree with you, Mallard. By the way, any updates on your plan to move to LA?

While we're on the subject...

Nothing too new on that front. There's a 10 week internship at the California Science Center that I'm thinking about applying for. It would give me over twice the income of my current job and I'm pretty damn qualified for it. But it starts in June and I'm not sure if I want to leave that early. Decisions, decisions!

Ooh

What and were is the California Science Center? That sounds pretty cool. What your position be? (Obviously, aside from taking it from behind)
